Does the week ahead already exist for us to move into or does it come into existence one moment at a time?
“What is time? If no one asks me, then I know. But if someone questions me about it and I try to explain it, then I no longer know.” – Augustine
“Time is merely a subjective condition of our intuition; it is nothing outside its subject.” – Immanuel Kant
“For us believing physicists the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.” – Albert Einstein.
“In the Theory of Relativity, physical time is quite simply there, motionless and static. All of space time is there, containing all the events from the birth of the universe to its death.” – Trinh Xuan Thuan
If the Theory of Relativity is accurate in this regard, then it explains God’s omniscience. He knows everything that will happen because it already has. If you think about it, this also means free choice is an illusion.
There is another view of time, but if you are a classical physicist or orthodox Christian you may not like it. I’ll explain in a later post.
