My post-op visit to Dr. Weinstein’s office last Friday was a scene of confusion. It turns out the doc had to do more than remove scar tissue. My original tear had not completely healed (or else was re-torn) and he had to repair this, which returns me to square one as far as therapy and healing.
So, I’m back in a sling for the next six weeks with no aggressive arm movement. I just hope for a better outcome this time.
After the doctor’s office I had to speak at the funeral of my mom’s second husband. Since Del was a retired veteran he was buried with full military honors. The memories and the ritual got me pretty choked up. My psyche wasn’t in the best of shape either.
The funeral was a reminder that all physical injuries are temporary.
